MASK(Mothers Awareness on School-age Kids) is dedicated to bringing awareness programs to our communities, large and small. All you have to do is pick up a newspaper or listen to the news to see how kids are being affected. No individual or family is immune. Our goal is to educate the entire family to be well equipped if and when issues do arise. Preparing and empowering children early will place them on a positive track that will lead to healthy decisions.
MASK was founded in August 2007 by Kimberly Cabral. She was astonished by the facts that her children where sharing with her in regards to things that her 4th and 6th grade children were exposed to in Elementary School. After consulting with experts in the field, counselors and specialist she felt the responsibility to gather all of the information and make it conveniently available for busy parents to attain.
Kimberly then consulted two other dedicated moms like Pam Baumann and Michelle Cardini about her concerns and desires to create a program to equip parents and children with much needed awareness. Pam and Michelle were on board from that first conversation. Since that conversation, back in May 2007, their vision has been not only to bring awareness to the community, but to create opportunities for children to get involved too and further empower them to make safe, healthy choices.
On August 17th 2007 the MASK the organization was formed. The first meeting generated around 50 concerned parents and the need was shown. Since the organization was just founded by ordinary moms with no fancy letters before or after their names, MASK started to partner with the experts in the many subjects we cover. MASK wants to bring informative awareness conveniently and effectively to the community. Since 2007, MASK has partnered with such organizations as the Attorney General’s Office, The Boys and Girls Clubs, and Remuda Ranch.
No individual or family is immune. Our goal is to educate the entire family and equip them with the necessary tools to tackle issues head-on if and when they happen. Preparing and empowering children early will place them on a positive track that will lead to healthy decisions.
