Sponsor Behind the MASK: Orthopaedic Specialists of Central Arizona
Dr. Bertrand Kaper is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip, knee and shoulder surgery. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago and completed his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
Having performed more than 5,000 surgeries in his career, Dr. Kaper is dedicated to the care and health of his patients—both at his practice in Scottsdale and in countries where access to healthcare is limited and challenging. Through his volunteer work with Operation Walk, a nonprofit organization that provides orthopedic surgery to patients in developing countries, he and a team of doctors have performed more than 400 surgeries in Guatemala and Ecuador.
When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Kaper and his wife Beth are busy raising their two teenagers. As is the case with many working parents, Dr. Kaper says that balancing work and family has been his biggest challenge, but he stays connected with them by making the time to talk with them.
Dr. Kaper is an ardent support of MASK and believes in the organization’s mission of providing valuable resources to parents of school-age children.
“The more dedicated resources we have at our disposal, the better job we can do as parents,” he says.
