As parents we need to remember to put ourselves on the neverending list of to-do’s. There is that old saying if Mama’s not happy- no one is happy. Where are you on this list… We call this “Moms Agenda”. Take a look at some ideas to take time for you to refuel!
Let’s face it: There’s nothing like some time spent in the company of good friends. And while a little “me time” sounds heavenly, some “girl time” is just downright fun.
Sometimes, you just need to be heard.
Getting together with the ladies can be as simple as catching up over a cup of coffee. One of the most important things a woman may not be getting enough of is talking with other women and being heard. Women have ways in which they can understand each other differently. A nice long chat with your girlfriends could be just the pick-me-up you need.
Put some miles on your car.
Let’s face it: It can be difficult to find the time to catch up with your girlfriends. Instead of trying to juggle everyone’s schedules, block off a whole weekend, pack your bags and hit the road! Drive out to the country or a new town, and spend time exploring area attractions. You’ll enjoy sharing these new experiences and creating memories with your friends.
Spend an evening in together.
Another way to get together is to spend an evening together at someone’s home. Send off the kids and make sure the guys are out with their buddies. Relax with a glass of wine and have everyone bring a small dish to share for the evening. Nothing’s better than an evening of fine wine and good food shared with great friends.
Get away to a nearby hotel.
If you can’t get away so far from home, spend an evening or weekend at a nearby hotel with the girls. It’s a nice reprieve from your daily life and will give you some time to wind down. Go out and explore your city, or stay in and read, talk or catch up on the latest chick-flicks.
Have a girl’s spa day.
Oftentimes, women don’t do enough to pamper themselves. A day at the spa with your girlfriends is the perfect excuse to not only treat yourself to something special, but also gives you reason to spend time with your friends. Book a day at a local salon or spa that offers everything from massages to body treatments.
Stay healthy and bond exercise.
Working out is one of the best ways to feel good about your body, but it’s not always a priority for many women. For that extra motivation, plan a workout with a group of friends. Take a Pilates or CrossFit class together, or go for a walk or run at a local park. You’ll all feel healthy and fit, and ready to take on the world!
Dance the night away.
Every once in a while, going out on the town is a great way to let loose. Arrange a fun girls’ night out where you can grab dinner and drinks before you hit the dance floor at a local club. Dance to your favorite tunes or try some new dance moves to the latest hits. Just be prepared to have a great time!
