Everything is in our faces and in the palm of our hands and childrens hands 24/7. The images and ideals of what you need to do, be and have have escalated to a degree that is so distorted and unrealistic.
How can we all not feel less than, want more, and be discouraged because we don’t all live like what is projected as normal online. How can we be grateful for what we have when we are constantly wanting or feeling like we need more.
How in times like these it takes me back to a song while I was growing up sung by the artist known as The Judds “ Tell Me ’bout The Good Ol’ Days.
How I wish so much that my children were able to grow up like I did, where family was what we looked up to and playing out in the yard till dark was the normal, drinking water from a hose and just being nice to neighbors and elders was just a way of being. We weren’t distracted by nonsense and we just lived the best life we could each and everyday.
So how as parents can we instill the good “ol” day and way thinking aligned with the day and age that we are in. It’s called “Gratitude”.
It literally just comes down to teaching how to be grateful for what we have, what we do, and go through, and the hope of the possibilities of tomorrow.
It’s more than just a mindset because minds are completely inundated, it’s a choice, a focus and daily reminder to practice. Teaching this for our children while living it will hopefully shift the focus from an unrealistic life set to a more fulfilled one. I hope you enjoy this issue as we map out for you how to achieve this, that can last a lifetime.
